VERSA Products is excited to announce a valve option for testing solenoid valve control circuits in applications where closing down or “shutting in” the system is not an option. With VERSA’s stainless steel bypass valves, users can test or replace a component within the circuit without shutting down the main system.

Today, deep water drilling from floating platforms is largely the standard for offshore oil and gas operations. This means drilling operations are taking place in extremely difficult conditions and require highly reliable dynamic tension compensation systems to mitigate the motion caused by tides and rough seas.

Versa Products recently introduced the 1” stainless steel cam valve to its family of the field-proven V-316 Series valves. Like all of the V316 Series, this new valve is designed to operate in harsh environments, such as applications in the petrochemical and paper industries where equipment is subject to corrosive chemicals. The material performance of V-316 valves will outlast brass and aluminum in these conditions.

Bottom dumps, also known as belly dumps, and railroad coal cars withstand some of the harshest environments imaginable. Valves in these applications withstand extremely high vibration, wide temperature ranges, elements of weather, dust, dirt, and a variety of caustic load materials.                                                                                                           

When VERSA began back in 1949, air quality was a major issue. That is why we developed fully ported, high flow valves adapted to handle all the dust, dirt, and grime that may flow through the valve. While air quality has improved, our valves remain more useful than ever in dirty environments and in situations where dust, dirt, and grime come from outside the pneumatic circuit. However, even with VERSA's valves, it is vitally important to use dust exclusion technology in particularly harsh environments.

Pneumatic systems perform tasks that require energy in the form of pressure, which is stored in a compressor tank, accumulators, or pressure lines.  When maintaining, repairing, or replacing components, that portion of the system must be safely depressurized.

The rack and pinion actuator, controlled by a simple NAMUR valve, is popular and widely used to actuate quarter-turn ball and butterfly valves across a multitude of industrial and process control applications.
